Jan 19 Joy Basu performed at the MCI Center in Washington D.C.
for the pre-inauguration youth concert with Sony recording artist,
Jessica Simpson. Also sharing the bill was Destiny's Child, Lee
Ann Womack and 98 Degrees.
President Bush spoke between the performace of 98 Degrees and
Jessica Simpson.

Jan 21 Joy perfomed with Jessica Simpson at The Mandelay Bay Hotel
in Las Vegas for a Redken party.

Jan 8 Joy Basu performed with Sony recording artist, Jessica Simpson,
at The American Music Awards.
The event was held at the Shrine auditorium in Los Angeles, CA
and aired live on ABC. Also performing was Jennifer Lopez, Ricki
Martin, Marylin Manson, Pink, Britney Spears, 3 Doors Down, Areosmith,
Toni Braxton, SheDaisy, Billy Gillman, Martina McBride, and Outkast.

Aug 30 Joy Basu performed with Dope recording artists, Extra Ordinary
Magnitude, at The Opium Den in Hollywood, CA.
Extra Ordinary Magnitude has a two page interview and picture in
the latest issue of Orange County magazine, No Cover.
Joy's shredding instrumental, Thrill Seeker, has been licensed and
used by MTV for the show MTV Undressed. Instrumentals from Joy's
1st CD, Dr Funhouse and Junior's Awake, have recently been broadcast
in Japan.

at the fifth annual Arthur Ashe Kids Day in New York. The charity
event was held at Flushing Meadows. Also performing was 98 Degrees,
as well as exhibition matches featuring Pete Sampras, Andre Agassi

continued till dawn over at SIR studios with performances by several bands

Hollywood, CA. On November 5, Joy performed with The Derek Jones Band at Bar Deluxe in Hollywood, CA. The Derek Jones Band can be heard on Renaissance Records (Renaissance 9801). Fans say the music is a cross between Dave Mathews and Lenny Kravitz. |
On September 22nd FYF rocked the Dragon Fly in Hollywood, CA. On stage with FYF was VCA Platinum star, Shayla LeVeaux. Once again Rock N Roll & pornstars kept the crowd pleased all night long.

If you are into phat breakbeats with ripping guitars, acid squish, and
comical lyrics about sex, drugs, and extreme sports, this CD is for you.

bassist Clark Souter, and Joy Basu performed with Spanish Rock artist,
Sebastian Lords. The all day festival was held at McArthur Park in downtown
Los Angeles, CA. Sebastian Lords' debut CD, Sin Miedo, is available on
Hits of June Records. |
| Dolphin
Entertainment will be releasing Marten Andersson's Legacy CD in Japan
on August 19, 1998. Musicians include singer Chris Roseberry, guitarist
Jonas Hansson (ex-Silver Mountain, Alcatraz & JHB), and drummer Stephan
Emig. Added to the band's strong mix, are special guest appearances by
guitarist Joy Basu and drummer Sammy J. Watson (ex-Ricky Lee Jones).
On Friday,
July 31st, drummer Glen Solbel (Jennifer Batten, Gary Hoey), bassist
Mel Brown, and Joy Basu did an instrumental show at LA Music Academy.
Cover songs by Steve Vai and Satriani were in the set. |

Tuesday, July 14th, FYF performed at the Poor Man's Anti Radio Bash. The
show was held at Picasso's in Upland, CA. The bill consisted of four other
bands including Rave Boy. |
| On
Thursday, July 9th, Poor Man interviewed FYF on the Anti Radio Show. Joy
Stick and Blay Zardo were unable to partake in the interview due to prior
engagements. However, lead singer 3 Ball Willie and Scott E. Palmher were
on the show for three hours. |
| FYF
song, "Hey Idiot", has been on the top ten list of Orange County's
radio show, Poor Man's Anti Radio, for two weeks. |
| On
Thursday, June 11th, FYF was filmed by Upbraid Production for the movie,
Dangerous Company. FYF will be appearing in 3 different scenes
as a Hollywood club band. Estimated release date for Dangerous Company
is the summer of 1999. |
| FYF
put on one of their wildest shows at The Dragonfly in Hollywood, CA. Once
again appearing on stage with FYF was former Vivid star, Lexus. This breakbeat-acid-punk
show with elements of techno, hip-hop, industrial & funk kept the
crowd moving all night. |
| Joy
Basu recorded guitar parts for industrial band, Headless Eyes. The recording
was done at Master Groove Studios in Chatsworth, CA. This project is highly
influenced by NIN & Marilyn Manson. Basu will be recording with Headless
Eyes in the future. If you are a fan of industrial grooves, keep an eye
out for this band. |

Wed, 5/13/98, Joy Basu did his first show with breakbeat-acid-punk band,
FYF. This first annual porno bash featuring FYF was for the cable TV show,
Colin and his Sleazy Friends. The sold out show was held at the
Garage in LA, CA. FYF is currently shooting a video, booking more live
shows & recording new tunes with Joy Stick. |
